UPUA Student Conduct Advisors, formerly known as UPUA Legal Affairs, is an organization dedicated to helping fellow students through the Penn State Office of Student Conduct process. Since 1967, UPUA Student Conduct Advisors have helped students through issues with violations of the student code of conduct whether related to alcohol, drugs, drug paraphernalia, or academic integrity.
The conduct process can be a challenging experience for any student; the Office of Student Conduct encourages students to seek the counsel of an advisor. SCA is here to provide non-legal advice to students experiencing the conduct process. They can accompany the student in any conduct proceeding; advise the student in the preparation and presentation of sharing of information; and advise the student in the preparation of any appeals or sanction reviews. SCA is meant only for advising, not for the purpose of presenting or representing on behalf of the student.
Meetings with a Student Conduct Advisor can be made by phone, email, or walk-in. During a typical meeting, an encounter report is created by the student and the SCA. From there, the student may decide whether or not they would like the advisor to accompany them to their conference. If the student is requesting that the advisor accompanies them to the conference, they must notify the Office of Student Conduct at least 24 hours prior to their conference.
The SCA office is located in the UPUA office (314 HUB).
Office hours: 10am-4pm Mon-Thurs.
